Anita Barone

A versatile stage actress who is mostly restricted to show-biz sitcoms TV, Anita Barone received her most memorable performance in the medium by playing husband to Jeff Foxworthy on "The Jeff Foxworthy Show," which had a single season on ABC from 1995-96. Barone's first stage appearance began at age five, in Detroit where her family had moved after moving out of St Louis. In her early twenties she was in more than 50 plays mostly for university productions as well as regional theatres. The stage roles she played included Juliet in "Romeo as well as Juliet," Helen Keller in a stage production from "Monday After the Miracle" and the character of Agnes an innocent nun as in "Agnes of the Gods." She also had part in a feature film that was titled "Ricochet". She also played a character in "The Roseary Murders". Also in 1996, she was the main character in an uninvolved romantic comedy entitled "Just Friends". Barone got her first recognizable Hollywood role as part of Carol & Company (NBC, 1990-91) - - the failed effort to be a part of Carol Burnett in trying to revive the comedy sketch series. Barone made an appearance on the USA Network movie "Wounded Heart" in 1995. The actress later returned to her weekly sitcom, starring alongside Michael Chiklis on "Daddio". Anita Anita Anita
